Scotland's largest flood prevention scheme launched

Glasgow City Council (Scotland) has launched a pioneering £53m flood prevention scheme. Speaking at the opening on 31 October 2011, council leader Gordon Matheson said, "The scheme is not just about great engineering, at its heart it is a regeneration project - both in terms of the environmental improvements and the significant enhancements made to allow future economic development to take place."
