The ABC's of affordable housing in Kenya

Overview: We are living in a world where the majority of people live in cities and 1 billion live in slums, a figure that will double by 2030. Urban populations are growing at a rate much faster than can be absorbed and managed, causing demands on services and infrastructure that massively outstrip supply. In many emerging market cities, this leaves the majority of residents with few options but to live in slums.

Increasing access to high quality affordable housing has a profound impact, both for the individual and society at large. Yet, housing is a challenging and capital-intensive sector characterized by delays and regulatory difficulties, and as a result, it rarely gains the limelight for impact investors and social entrepreneurs.

SOLUTIONS FOR HOUSING THE MASSES, SLUMS TO SUSTAINING HOMES

One very important fact we must all face when tackling the problem of transitioning slums into sustainable housing and that is using a duplication system. There will be many designers and builders competing for such projects. The question, how does one pay for it? We have come up with a system of designing structures that are economically friendly, safe and fast to construct.

But there is more than proving the means to construct a home, are the needs for proper food, fresh water and energy.  From our vantage point, our designs of building sustainable communities are realistic, but, there are many hurtles to over come, mainly from politics, war and corruption. We are ready to work with anyone with the means to take on our system of building. To learn more about us, please visit www.isstubes.com
