What do you think of the World Urban Forum? Here is what some participants said on the first day of the Forum.
Sonia from Argentina - I am impressed because it is very well organized. I think it is very informative, maybe there should be longer breaks to allow people to look around - there seem to be too many parallell events and you cannot be in all the places at the same time. It is always a very nice social event. It also shows that people have worked quite a lot to prepare the material for the event. It was good to have sessions on rental housing, also the whole issue of equity and how to tackle social inequalities.
Paul from Kenya - the Forum is interactive and this has enabled me to learn from so many people, so many initiatives and so many countries. I have got specific information on how to tackle problems that we have back home and now I will pass on that information to the right people when I return.
Laura from Colombia - I have not had a chance to go to many events but I have really enjoyed the session on urban mobility and the assembly yesterday on Sunday. It is very well organized and has a lot of interesting topics.
Geralda from Italy, a volunteer at the Forum - the exhibition is very beatiful and this is the first time for me to take part in such a big event. It is very good experience.
Diana from Kenya - it is really good. It is good to see what other countries are doing and to learn from them so that we can apply it in our countries.
Marc from Burkina Faso - this is the first time I have been to the Forum. I find that it is very good from the point of view of the personalities, the countries and the topics being covered at the Forum. I have just been at the Ministerial round table.
