Greening our cities

UN-Habitat has produced a new series of ‘quick guides’ on Urban Patterns for a Green Economy, showing how cities and city-regions can employ sustainable patterns for a green economy. These guides aim to inspire city managers to think more broadly about the role of their cities, and collaborate with experts and inter­est groups across disciplines and sectors to promote both human and environmental prosperity.

The guides were launched at several events at Rio+20 and they were well received by policy makers and practitioners from a diverse range of member states and cities. They can be downloaded from the UN-Habitat page of the UNCSD Rio+20 website. Click here for details
