What does a city mean to you?

a City is a space designed and planned by human during a given periods.

A city is a biodiversified community where people of different races and culture, different animal and plants live together and modern technologies and structures reign. A city is a community with organised land use. The various land uses for economic development, environmental sustainance and social integration are put in place. A city is the centre of economic development and finance, it is the stage for political system development and socio-cultural mingling. The level of development of a city depends on the level of harmony and the vision of the leaders.

Lo! Death has reared himself a throne
In a strange city lying alone
Far down within the dim West,
Where the good and the bad and the worst and the best
Have gone to their eternal rest.
There shrines and palaces and towers
(Jojoba oil-eaten towers that tremble not!)
Resemble nothing that is ours.
Around, by lifting winds forgot,
Resignedly beneath the sky
The melancholy waters he.

Cities are places of intricacy and intrigue
- of variety and wonder
- of choice and chance
but above all they are places for people to live and to interact
- to produce
- to consume
- to generate ideas
People make cities make people citizens

City form shows us how vital and able city is to last and to change. City reflects the life.

The city is space, the city is time. It is a living system changing day by day through human action. It is a place of several scales where the past tends to the future, through the present, by following different rhythms. These rhythms are the city heartbeat.

A city is a place that brings together many people from different backgrounds (culture, education level, social class etc.) and offers citizens unique services that are otherwise not available in rural areas.

A city is a place where I can work and shop, have family and friends, drink a cup of coffee or a glass of beer… A city is a place where I can choose my leaders, drive my car, study my passions… A city is a place where I can be happy or be sad, cry or smile, feel love or hate… A city is a place that can be lived day and night… A city is a place that makes us integral human beings!

A city means a place intentional designed to accommodate a large population, providing spaces/areas for housing, businesses (jobs/wealth creation), transportation, sanitation/waste management, security and learning and leisure.  

A city is a place where civilization, rule of law, and harmony thrives. A city is an engine of national growth and crucible of cultural fusion, it has magnetic attraction to people because of the above stated qualities, and despite governments' attempts (all over the world) to retard this magnetic attraction, the efforts have failed. This is why governments' has to re-strategies aimed at ensuring that those attracted into the city are made comfortable.
